Annie Elledge (she/her) is a feminist political geographer and interdisciplinary fat studies scholar interested in the politics of body size, gender, and disability in the U.S. South. She received her Ph.D. in the Department of Geography and Environment at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2026. Her dissertation research examines how fat people engage with weight-inclusive movement spaces. Currently, she is co-leading a project with Dr. Stacey Williams (ETSU) on the embodied and emotional effects of stigma among individuals with PCOS. More broadly, Annie’s work engages feminist and crip/queer theory, qualitative methods, and place-based research to understand the everyday production of the ideal citizen in the United States.
