It's our 50th anniversary and we are celebrating all year long! 

The Women's Studies Program, as it was known then, was founded in 1977 with Dr. Maija Blaubergs as its director. Since then, the program has grown to include a major, minor, graduate certificate, and two undergraduate certificates. Over the years we have hosted hundreds of free public events including speakers, conferences, panels, films, performances, and receptions, and have supported student and faculty research that connects women's and gender studies to disciplines across the university. As we look back on fifty years of cutting edge intersectional feminist scholarship (and look ahead to the next fifty years!), we celebrate the vision of our founders and commit ourselves to continuing the work of creating a more just and equitable world for future generations.
