Tuesday, March 26 2019, 3:30pm Special Collections Libraries 271 Special Information: FREE, open to all, FYO approved Women's History Month Craftivism (Greer, 2002), craft+activism, is the use of crafts to engage with social and political issues. This panel will discuss the importance of craftivism in social movements, the ways in which it engages community and fosters peaceful protest, and examine the various ways to participate in this form of activism. Panelists include feminist quilters, knitters, and embroiderers; plus, puppetry, crochet, and more! Moderated by Dr. Chris Cuomo. This program coincides with the Lucy Hargrett Draper Center and Archives for the Study of the Rights of Women in History and Law, circa 1550-2050 exhibit "Nevertheless, She Resisted: Documenting the Women's Marches," on display in the Hargrett Library Gallery until May 2019.
