Unwanted groping and kissing are commonplace and rarely sanctioned in public drinking settings, but are legally actionable in workplaces. The contingent nature of the law in regulating nonconsensual sexual attention means that patrons in public drinking settings routinely negotiate the moral boundaries of such conduct.  In this project, we use data from 108 interviews with college-age women and men about their experiences with aggression in public drinking settings to examine the discursive strategies young people employ when negotiating those boundaries.
