April 10, 2026 - MLC 214 was jammed to overflowing as students, staff, and faculty packed in to hear Dr. Alexis Pauline Gumbs talk about her latest book Survival is a Promise: The Eternal Life of Audre Lorde. Gumbs took a holistic approach to her talk, leading us all in collective breathing exercises and encouraging the audience to connect to one another as well as to her. Conversation was lively and continued after the event at a well-attended reception in the 3rd floor Reading Room. Thanks to all who attended!
